How much will my hosting provider charge me to transfer my Web address (domain name) to use with my new Website?

Most hosting providers do not charge to transfer a Web address. Please note that there is no setup charge for this transfer at all; any transfer charges that you may incur would come directly from your current hosting provider.

What is a Web Address (Domain Name)?

Practically speaking, your Web Address is your Internet identity and your online brand. Your customers will remember this name and use it to find your Website, your products or your services. And since no two parties can ever hold the exact Web Address simultaneously, your Internet identity is totally unique.

Technically, a Web Address is an addressing construct used for identifying and locating computers on the Internet. While computers use Internet Protocol (IP) numbers to locate each other on the Internet, people find them hard to remember. Therefore, Web Addresses were developed to permit the use of easily remembered words and phrases to identify Internet addresses.

For example, the Web Address yourcompany.com represents the site that we developed for you. When you type yourcompany.com into a Web browser or send e-mail to someone at yourcompany.com, the Domain Name System (DNS) translates yourcompany.com into the IP numbers used by the Internet and connects you to your website.

Do I have to get a new Web address or can I use one that I already have?

You can use an existing Web address or request a new one.

I can't find a Web address that works for my Website; lots of the names I've tried are taken. I don't have a Web address to transfer either. What should I do?

Your Website must have a Web address in order to be found on the Internet. And you must have a Web address to subscribe to our monthly plans. However, if you want to get a Website now (and register your Web address later) you can have us build your site, then download the site to your computer. Just remember that your Website won't be on the Internet until you have registered your Web address. Your next step will be to arrange for the Website to be hosted by the provider of your choice. Many hosting providers offer "third level domain names" (e.g. www.yourcompany.abccompany.com). If you have dial up access to the Internet through an Internet Service Provider (ISP) you may already have space for a Website with a third level domain name. Check with your existing provider for details.

What is a Website "Design"?

Website designs are professional-quality templates that include complex features such as intricate page layouts (versus basic headers and wallpapers), custom interactive buttons (versus hyperlink navigation), unique font and color schemes (versus basic HTML text styles), and the use of dynamic button rollovers.

Will I be able to see my site before it gets published to the Internet?

Yes, we let you preview your personalized Website before you publish it. Each time we change your content you can preview your site to make sure you like what you see. And, you can change your content after we've published it.

How long will it take me to build my site?

We can create most Website's usually within 7 - 14 business days and present it to you online, although this may vary depending on the complexity of your site. Once you review and give us your feedback, the remaining process to complete the site and make it live online usually takes an additional 2 - 5 business days.

What if I want to change my site content after it's been published online?

Our Websites are designed to be flexible and to grow with your business. You can always update your text and graphics by simply requesting your changes or using the admin features of your site to make the changes yourself.

What if I want to change my Website design after its been published to the Internet?

In the event you wish to select a different design from our gallery after the initial presentation of the Website, you will be subject to an additional charge to redesign your skin.

How much will it cost to make changes to my Website after the warranty expires?

You will always have the ability to make the changes yourself online by using the admin features of your site.

If the changes or additions appear to be significant and you prefer to have us do it then we either produce another contract for the development at a fixed cost, or simply bill you at our current hourly rate. Currently our rates start at $65.00 per hour for design and $80.00 per hour for programming.

How can I be sure my site will be unique?

Each Website design gives you the structure for your site and then you can add unique elements according to your needs. You can include your company name, logo, artwork, photos, personalized text, button, headers etc. In addition, our library of designs is always growing.
